S02e24 features our favorite guest co-host Markings as the podcast welcomes Montreal creative director Miro LaFlaga to the show!! They kick things off by talking KREAM (kids run everything around me) and Montreal being a creative hub before getting serious about art and commerce and whether the twain shall meet. The crew discusses economics in underserved communities, Miro breaks down his take on branding, and Markings talks the importance of sharing information. Miro gives us some background on his journey and insight into managing your socials and then talks being professional in creative fields. They hit Top of the Hour and discuss the importance of your circle and whether there’s any such thing as a selfless act. They discuss funniest people, best Wu-Tang member and whether cool is dead before they talk face tattoos and who gets the credit. They get pretty deep into the concept of art and draw some lines in the sand between art, content and commodity and Miro gets down to his self-portrait (go follow on the gram to see the self-portraits btw!). They talk influence and how to use it, controversial opinions in music and the class of 2008 for rappers (blog rap stand up!) before closing out with an argument about DMX. ummmmm LASERS!

In s02e20 Mike is joined by Markings, rapper / Artbeat and Loop Sessions affiliate, as co-host as they welcome J.u.D., Montreal DJ / producer / graphic designer / radio host, to the podcast. Things kick off with talk of Rico Nasty and reversal of gender roles, modern dating and dating pros before Mike reveals that he cried all morning, J.u.D. reveals that he’s on a streak of a certain kind and Markings reveals his nightmare. The gang talks just being honest when pursuing sex and how to use lucid dreaming for bad and then top 3s in various mediums. They play Top of the Hour (!) and discuss energy drinks, dream beefs in the Montreal scene, the inner-workings and inner-bias of the local music industry and who gets a seat at the rap table. They talk homebodyness before Mike shits on art again and everyone bemoans quebec’s messed up relationship with black music. J.u.D. gives us some insight into the early days of Alaiz, a local music collective from a few years back, and they talk music distribution outlets, bring back “Fuck it Pick a Record!” from season 1 and then discuss the possible maybe probable re-emergence of the New York rap sound. They close out on maturity’s role in modern matrimony, what streams mean fr fr and what lies ahead for the internet before J.u.D. unveils his self-portrait for our collective enjoyment. 17 is a special lil joint that pieces together some unearthed conversations from previous episodes Nay (s02e07) and Cherubian Offerings (s02e08). It kicks off with KC questioning whether he can make reggae being Trinidadian and Jay and Mike getting scientific about colour. They talk animal feats including dance battles and scouts including their cookies. Art rears its ugly head and Mike and Jay further discuss its relevance before talking animals again. Mike and Jay talk Craig Mack and Bad Boy Records going God before Mike Jay and KC discuss a friend who’s seminaring on landing ladies. Mike and Jay talk doing the most on an island, Jay examines getting older and everyone examines what’s going on with M.O.P. and then Juvenile. They discuss pros and cons of co-ops, come up with old promoter names, talk Groove Theory’s chances in the current climate and why Juicy J can’t lose. Lasers!

Episode 5 is all about what’s going on in new music, rap and otherwise, and Mike’s disenchantment with the state of art - it’s dead (!)(?)(,)(.) he says, while Jay argues that he is in fact himself art and alive(?). To get the stuff started each Laser brings forth 10 songs that they listen to and appreciate and sometimes shit on. Jay explains the cause for his raspy voice and Mike and Jay tell rabbit stories, each one sadder than the last. Mike brings up Sean Penn’s new book and the Lasers laugh at his horrible writing, ridden with ridiculous alliteration that proves he’s insane. They close out the episode with talk on the legalization of weed, whether it can make you go crazy (lol), and why some people can’t handle the stuff and then freestyle an ad for their instagram (go follow!).
